The more expensive grass-fed butters or traditional butters are good, but low-quality cheap butters might contein water and this will ruin the true toffee experience. Also, the chocolate chips should be of high quality low carb chocolate.
The way of cooking is not hard nor complicated, you will enjoy every moment in this recipe, from the beginning of the process until the first bite.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup butter
- 1/2 cup golden monk fruit sweetener
- 1 cup keto chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup raw almonds chopped finely
HOW TO PREPARE
In a bowl mix the butter and the sugar substitute. Then, put the bowl and cook over low heat until the butter is melted and mixed equally with the sugar. Stir during the whole process and when the mixture begins to bubble check if the temperature is 300F and remove from heat.
After this the homogenous substance will begin to cool. Stir continuously during this process to make sure that the butter and sugar remain mixed nicely.
In a loaf or square pan add the almonds (or you can use different nuts according to your taste) and pour the butter mixture all over the pan. Spread the chocolate chips on top and cover with tin foil.
Set aside in the fridge until the substance is firm. Then, you can break the toffee apart into small pieces.
