KETO CREAMY CHICKEN MARSALA
Just as previously mentioned, this recipe is very easy to prepare. Even if you are a beginner, do not hesitate to try this super-delicious marsala. The magic in this recipe is made by the flavors. The mushrooms also play a special part and the meat is juicy, soft and tender. Adding curry and other flavors will make the taste strong, but marsala wine will make it rich and balanced. The Marsala wine is a traditional fortified sweet Italian wine named by a beautiful Italian city. The wine is dry and sweet as well, and that makes a true difference in this recipe.
The best thing for those in keto is that this recipe is full of vitamins and minerals! Also, the carbs are less than 5g per serving. The fat is also high-32g (sth. below 50%) which makes this recipe perfect for those in ketosis.
INGREDIENTS
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts thinly sliced*
- salt and pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 1/2 cups sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 cup Marsala wine** see note
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Fresh Chopped Parsley for garnish
HOW TO PREPARE
Prepare the cooking pan by adding 1 tablespoon of olive oil and preheating on medium heat. Add the chicken immediately together with pepper and salt. Cook for a while until the chicken turns light brown and remove it from heat. Set aside the chicken and continue to prepare the sauce.
Mix the mushrooms with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and saute on medium heat. Then, add the marsala wine and raise the temperature to medium-high. Mix all and wait for the boiling point( this allows the alcohol to burn out). After the boiling, add immediately heavy whipping cream, chicken broth, garlic powder, and ground mustard.
Wait until boil and reduce heat. Simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes until the sauce thickens. The last phase is to put the chicken back in the sauce and continue to simmer for 2 minutes. Once the substance is thick and homogenized with the chicken, remove it from heat and serve. You can garnish with parsley.
**Best side dishes with this recipe are mashed potatoes, asparagus, green beans, broccoli, noodles or plain rice. Of course, you can feel free to experiment with other side dishes that you find suitable for this keto creamy chicken marsala.
