To be honest, in the past couple of weeks almost every cauliflower recipe that I have seen was some cauliflower adaptation to serve the purpose of a holiday season dinner table recipe. Most of the popular mashes and casseroles adjusted according to the keto standards and cuisine are cauliflower-based. At the same time, the keto community responds very well to these recipes and, we have to admit, cauliflower is for a reason one of the crucial ingredients in keto diet meal plans.
Of course, not everybody likes cauliflower, but cauliflower is a veggie rich in vitamins, almost the same as broccoli in nutrient values. It contains only 1.5 grams of carbs per cup which makes it completely keto-friendly. The unique taste and form enable cauliflower to become multifunctional and serve multiple different purposes in the kitchen.
KETO LOW CARB BANG BANG CAULIFLOWER
Today we share an amazing cauliflower recipe. Of course, this recipe is something out of the ordinary (as we already mentioned that we’ve had other cauliflower recipes in the nearby past). This recipe is unique because it is extremely delicious, very rich in taste, and floured amazingly well.
One of the best things about this recipe is that it tastes almost the same as the original bang bang shrimp appetizer. The nutrient values are keto-friendly and it’s very easy to make. The bang bang cauliflower bites are an amazing experience worth giving a shot.
INGREDIENTS
- 12 oz cauliflower cut into bite-sized pieces (about 1/2 a large head of cauliflower)
- cooking oil for frying
- 1 large egg whisked
- 1 tbsp heavy cream
- 1/2 tbsp parsley finely chopped
- BREADING
- 1 cup superfine almond flour
- 1 cup finely grated parmesan cheese use fresh and not shelf-stable kind
BANG BANG SAUCE
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp chili paste I used sambal
- 1 tbsp erythritol granular
- 1 tsp sriracha
- 1 tsp lime juice
HOW TO PREPARE
Prepare the most important substances first. In a small bowl whisk the egg with heavy cream and set it aside. In another medium-sized bowl blend the almond flour and cheese. This substance will be your breading.
Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper and sprinkle a small amount from the breading. Then, you are ready to begin with the preparation of the cauliflower bites.
Dip each cauliflower piece in the egg-wash bowl. Make sure that each piece is fully coated and do not leave extra moisture on the cauliflower pieces. Then, coat each piece in the breading. Make sure that each piece is coated well before putting it into a pot.
Preheat a pot with cooking oil inside at 350F. Put the cauliflower pieces and stir from time to time until ready. The deep golden to light brown color can show you that your job here is done. After you complete the entire process with each cauliflower piece, put them on a paper towel to drain from the fat.
The last step is to prepare the bang bang sauce. Mix the sauce ingredients in a small-sized bowl and whisk until everything is mixed nice and smooth. You can taste the sauce and adjust the taste in the specific way you love by adding more or less from some specific ingredient.
Serve the cauliflower bites dazzled or in addition with the sauce. Enjoy this delicious recipe!
