Simple Keto Salad Recipe

If you have taco cravings while in keto, this recipe can be your ultimate solution. This keto taco salad is very good even for those who are not in keto, the combination of ingredients is simply perfect. Of course, this recipe is very healthy, strong in nutrient values, and a great substitution for any meal in your keto meal plan. This means that this recipe can be served both as a salad or main dish.

For preparation, you don't really have to worry about it. Even the newbies in the kitchen can make it fast and easy. The recipe is based on the Tex-Mex traditional taco recipe. Also, there are some sauces involved, but you can always experiment with your favorite additions, seasonings, sauces etc.

 

SIMPLE KETO TACO SALAD RECIPE

 

Because this recipe is quite simple and easy, make sure you have products of high quality. Put your focus on the ground beef and feel free to use your favorite sauces and seasonings. The ingredients in this recipe are just the basics and you can enrich the combination according to your taste.

 

 

INGREDIENTS

 

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3 tbsp homemade taco seasoning 
  • 6 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • 1 cup fresh tomato salsa (pico de gallo)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 lime (optional)

 

HOW TO PREPARE

 

You should start with cooking the ground beef. Grease a large pan over medium-high heat and cook the beef. Break it up with a wood spook and cook for about 3-4 minutes (make sure the meat is not pink, but brown). Drain the excess liquids, add the homemade taco seasonings (and your optional ones), and set aside.  Do not let the cooked beef cool completely, prepare your timing, but also, do not serve it hot instantly after removing it from heat and seasoning.

 

Prepare your serving plate/salad bowl with the rest of the ingredients. Set chopped lettuce, sliced avocados, and assemble all of the rest (cheese, sour cream, beef, salsa, lime, and your own optional ingredients). Decorate in the way you like (parsley is a recommended choice) and your keto taco salad is ready!
