Keto Caesar Salad Recipe

The Ceasar salad stands among the most popular salads throughout the world. This salad rose in popularity because of it's simple but, at the same time, rich and unique taste. It is a combination of veggies, natural additives, and proteins. The Caesar salad is one of the most popular snacks too.

This salad was traditionally invented in Mexico. During the old days, this salad was served and prepared tableside. This is a recipe rich in different ingredients and it's nice to see the preparation method. Unlike any other salad, the Caesar salad keeps the perfect balance between fat, vitamins, proteins, and minerals.

KETO CAESAR SALAD RECIPE

This recipe is a classic keto version of the traditional Caesar salad. The recipe is low in carbs( just 2% - 4 g per serving) and awesome for those in ketosis. This recipe should become part of your keto meal plan because it might appear like an awesome solution as a crowd-pleaser, you can serve it as a side dish or bring it to your workplace for lunch. Also, this salad is recommended as a keto snack, especially after exercise sessions.

INGREDIENTS

Dressing

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ lemon, zest and juice
  • ¼ cup (2⁄3 oz.) grated shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped filets of anchovies
  • 1 garlic clove, pressed or finely chopped
  • salt and pepper

Salad

  • 12 oz. chicken breasts, bone-in with skin
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 oz. bacon
  • 7 oz. Romaine lettuce, chopped
  • ½ cup (11⁄3 oz.) shredded Parmesan cheese

HOW TO PREPARE

Put all of the dressing ingredients into a blender and mix everything nicely. Set aside. 

Use a greased baking dish to bake the chicken breasts. Preheat the oven to 350F. Season with pepper and salt before baking and pour olive oil or melted butter over the top of the chicken breasts. Bake the chicken for about 20 minutes and make sure it's fully cooked. Once the chicken is done, slice it into smaller pieces. Meanwhile, fry the bacon until crisp.

The last step is to prepare the plate. Place lettuce on the bottom and put the sliced chicken and bacon over the top. Then, add the dressing as the last top layer and cover well with grated parmesan cheese.
