Pizza is the most popular food in the world. This food originates from Naples, Italy. In less than half a millennium the famous pizza recipe has spread throughout the whole world. Everybody loves pizza and we have hundreds of different pizza recipes, with different ingredients and various combinations of tastes. In this article, we share one pizza recipe that is completely keto-friendly. If they can make a pineapple pizza, why shouldn't we have a keto pizza, right? Aside from this little joke, this pizza is actually very tasty and almost the same as regular pizza, but healthier and more fat-based.

KETO FATHEAD CRUST PIZZA RECIPE

The most important thing about this pizza is the dough. This is what makes the difference in carbs, as you've already concluded. The way we create and prepare the dough is very important even for normal pizza, but this time it plays a major role in your keto diet. Let's check the difference between the 2 flours that are your possible choice for this recipe and how low they are in carbs:

Fathead pizza with almond flour: 144 calories | 12g fat | 3g total carbs | 2g net carbs | 8g protein

Fathead pizza with coconut flour: 117 calories | 8g fat | 4g total carbs | 2g net carbs | 7g protein

You can choose from the two flours, but we recommend coconut flour. Let's check all ingredients.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 cup Mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 2 tbsp Cream cheese (cut into cubes)
  • 2 large Egg (beaten)
  • 1/3 cup Coconut Flour

HOW TO PREPARE

In a max-heat microwave add the mozzarella and the cubed cream cheese. Place them together into a large bowl and stir well every 30 seconds. Continue this process until you have a homogenous substance. The total amount of baking in the microwave should be around 90 seconds, but you must check and stir each 30 sec. to prevent overcooking.

Combine the beaten eggs and coconut flour. Make sure the mixture is blended well and then knead with your hands until a dough is formed. Spread the dough onto a pizza pan covered with parchment paper. Spread the dough to 1/4'' to 1/3'' thick. Poke holes in the crust to prevent bubbling and enable airflow throughout the crust. Spread the cheese on top of the dough.

Place the pizza pan in a preheat oven to 425F. Bake for about 6 minutes and check for bubbles. If there are bubbles formed during the baking in the first 6 minutes, poke some more holes in those areas and bake for about 3-5 minutes until the crust turns golden brown. Serve the yumi pizza! Of course, in addition, you can add salami, pepperoni, etc.
